Development History

Aroused in 80s Soviet-Indian Enterprise “Sovindeita” (later reorganized into SONDA Technologies CJSC) began its activity from computer assembling for enterprises of Automobile Industry Department.

At the moment of the Company formation, its staff possessed with considerable scientific potential. Gradually the scopes of company’s activity began widening, and in the late 80s the technical specialists started to elaborate an automation of citizens’ fingerprint identification.

         In 1992 there was installed the first version of Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) for experimental exploitation in the Expert-Criminal Department at the DIA of Magnitogorsk.

         Later, the first Russian full-scale system SONDA was demonstrated on the International Exhibition of Security Facilities «Interpolitex» (Moscow).

         In 1993 SONDA AFIS won the first prize  in the testing of search mode “fingerprint– fingerprints”, after that it was installed in the ECC at the MIA of Russia (further  in Krasnodar, Yaroslavl, Vologda, Kaluga, Magnitogorsk).

         Versions of SONDA AFIS were modified, created new ones, which were notable for easy installation and maintenance, exploitation reliability and high search characteristics.

         In the late 90s took place the first deliveries to Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

         In 2000 SONDA Technologies entered the AFIS International Market. The company got into contact with partners from Asia Countries (India, Korea, Japan, and China), the Near East Countries (Pakistan, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon), and the South America Countries (Uruguay, Peru, Guatemala, and Panama).

         In addition to Criminal Application AFIS the Company produces Civil Application Biometric Systems: Access Control System, Time and Attendance System, Dermatoglyphic Informational Automated System (DIAS), Parents Notification Informational System «Stay-in-Touch», a line of Software Development kits (SDK).
