To the educational institutions of the Criminalistic Sphere

Educational institutions with a chair of criminalistic have a great opportunity to increase their teaching, technical and informational equipment level. Such solution is necessary first of all for the Higher Schools of Militia, Universities of law and other universities with a chair of criminalistic.

On the basis of “Sonda 7.3 Light” AFIS complex we form a computer class to train skills of work with fingerprint information.

In educational institutes a network variant of “Sonda” AFIS is usual installed (from 2 to 20 computers) with a database of 500 or 1000 tenprints and an unlimited latent database stored at one computer/server. Cost of such system is few times lower than the cost of regular AFIS with an unlimited database. Besides the architecture of the “Sonda” AFIS is universal – it doesn’t require special computers or operating systems. Computers with installed “Sonda” AFIS may be simultaneously used for other purposes in Windows environment.

- Introduction to the work with the AFIS and interaction of the regional level system with remote work stations.
- Training of operators to work with tenprints (input from paper carries, indexing, performance of searches and expertise).
- Training of operators to work with latents from the scenes of crime (input from films, photographs and digital devices, latent processing, search query forming and performance of expertise).
- Training to work with palms and pal latents.
- Improvement of inkless fingerprinting skills on the basis of a live scanner Sonda LS6 (working out of fingerprints rolling technique without powders and paint).
“Sonda” AFIS delivery set includes additional programs, which may be used as exam tests or just for experience working out:
1. Tenprint input training program
2. Latent processing training program.
Training programs “Sonda” are created together with criminal experts and give an opportunity to see typical mistakes of operators, esteem level of own mistakes, get introduced to typical and rare fingerprint patterns, and also train on exam tests.
