Development HistoryIn 80s a joint Soviet-Indian company Sovindeita was set up. The company started from assembling PC systems for motor-car industry. From the very outset the Company had considerable scientific potential due to which it successfully realized perspective elaborations. At the end of 80s the specialists of the company began elaborate the system of automation of citizens’ identification using fingerprints. Further this tendency became basic for the Company. Soon Sovindeita was reorganized into Sonda Technologies CJSC. In 1992 the first version of Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) was installed for experimental exploitation in Expert-Criminalistic Department at DIA of Magnitogorsk. In 1993 Sonda AFIS took the first place in Testings of ECC at the MIA of Russia in the search mode «latent - fingerprints». Sonda distribution in Russia had been started from that time. At first it was installed in ECC at the MIA of Russia, and further in Municipal Expert-Criminalistic departments in Krasnodar, Yaroslavl, Vologda, Kaluga, Magnitogorsk. In the late 90s for the first time the Company transferred its product abroad: Uzbekistan and Ukraine. At the beginning of new century Sonda Technologies came out on the International Market. Appeared new partners from Asia (India, Korea, Japan, China), Near East (Pakistan, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon), South America (Uruguay, Peru, Guatemala, Panama). Sonda AFIS versions are perfected, new programs are created, which doffer with simple installation and servicing, exploitation reliability and high search characteristics. High level of Company’s elaborations was approved in International Competitions of Biometrical Algorithms - SlapSeg04, Minutiae Interoperability Exchange Test (MINEX), and Fingerprint Verification Competition (FVC) - where in a row of tests Sonda algorithms took first prizes. In November 2004 The Sonda Company was awarded with golden medal 'Quality and Safety Guarantee' in competition of VIII International Forum of State Safety Support 'Interpolitex-2004' for its elaboration and introduction of Sonda AFIS together with optical fingerprint scanner 'Sonda LS5'. In addition to software the Company started produce optical fingerprint scanners, which was elaborated by its specialists. New product differed with high reliability and reading accuracy. The Company had got more than 50 patents for its elaborations, identification method and hardware. In 2006 the Company had got an International Conformance Certificate for the System Quality Management ISO 9001:2000 with reference to elaboration, production, delivery and maintenance of software. Advanced technology products attracted investors, this fact served as new impulse for Company development and biometrical technologies as a whole. The company was reorganized into Sonda Technologies Ltd. It started producing different biometrical systems of civil application. These are Access Control and Time Attendance Systems for enterprises, Dermatoglyphic Informational Automated System (Sonda DIAS) for medico-genetic consulting of the citizens, using their fingerprints and palmprints, complex system of School Safety and Parents’ Notification Stay-in-touch, a line of Software Development Kits (SDK) using which anybody can built Fingerprint Identification Systemsñ of any level from national ID-cards and Biometrical Passports up to Local Access Control Systems. |
